The Challenge
Hackney Gelato engaged LNC Services during the launch of a new production facility, as the business transitioned from a smaller railway arch setup into a larger manufacturing environment.
At the time, heightened hygiene requirements were a major operational consideration, particularly within food production environments where cleaning products and processes needed to be both effective and suitable for use around food preparation areas.
The client required a cleaning contractor capable of supporting the fit out and launch of the facility, while working carefully within the requirements of a food production setting.
The challenge involved identifying suitable cleaning products that could support high hygiene standards without compromising the operational needs of the production environment. Hygiene, reliability and readiness were all critical to ensuring the site could open safely and begin production on schedule.
The LNC Solution
LNC Services implemented a specialist cleaning specification designed for a food production environment.
Working alongside Anglian Chemicals, a UK manufacturer of specialist cleaning products, LNC Commercial Cleaning sourced and used food-safe antiviral cleaning products suitable for use within the production facility. This helped ensure the environment could be cleaned and sanitised effectively without relying on harsher medical-grade products that would not have been appropriate for food preparation areas.
The initial scope included a builders clean, pre-production clean and post fit out cleaning support across the facility, helping prepare the site for operational launch.
Following the successful completion of the initial project, the relationship developed into an ongoing daily commercial cleaning contract delivered five days a week. In 2022, the scope expanded further to include a second warehouse facility, with LNC Services continuing to support the client’s growth.
The cleaning specification also includes cleaning support around food production equipment, including commercial vats, refrigeration units and associated machinery used within the production process.
